Bicycle Tricks & Repair : How to Replace Mountain Bike Hand Grips

So now I’m going to show you how to replace
the grips on your mountain bike. First thing you want to do is get a sharp razor blade
and cut off your old grips. When your old grips are off you want to make sure that there’s
no oil or any sort of residue on the handlebars itself. The next thing that you’re going to
want to do is pick out your new grips, and you’re going to want a bottle of either hairspray
that has alcohol in it, or a small bottle of rubbing alcohol. You just spray the inside
of the grip, it’ll slide right on there,
within a couple of hours all the alcohol will evaporate inside there and the grips will
stick, it’ll stop sliding around. This is another style of grip, it clamps onto the
handlebars, so that you don’t have to use any alcohol or hairspray, anything like that,
and basically you just remove your old grip, slide the new one on, and with a a small 2
millimeter Allen key tighten it down, and the grip is stuck on there.
